Juan Carlos Lopez
The pianist musician, born in Ibagué in 1988, is recognized for his outstanding talent and academic training. He began his piano studies at the age of fourteen at the Music School of the Tolima Conservatory under the tutelage of maestro Carlos Ceballos. Subsequently, he entered the Conservatory of Music of the National University of Colombia, where he completed his undergraduate degree with teacher Piedad Pérez and then completed a master's degree in Piano Pedagogy under the guidance of the renowned teacher Mac McClure, disciple of Alicia de la Rocha, completing his studies with honors in 2015.
His career as a concert pianist, soloist, co-repetitor and piano pedagogue is notable. Since 2011, he has worked at the Tolima Conservatory, where he performs various teaching and management tasks. He has received complementary training with renowned teachers and has participated in numerous concerts and festivals both in Colombia and internationally, standing out as a piano and organ soloist.
His commitment to the dissemination of classical music leads him to develop the “Toca 88” project, which seeks to bring piano recitals to different places in the country, especially those where classical music is less accessible, with the aim of promoting education. musical and appreciation for sound art.
In addition to his artistic career, he has been recognized for his participation in international events and for receiving awards such as the Salvi foundation scholarship and first place in the Musikeon Piano competition in Spain, demonstrating his excellence and versatility as a pianist.
