Blanca Uribe
Blanca Uribe, originally from Bogotá, moved to Medellín, growing up in a family of musicians. He began his studies with his grandmother and then with the Italian teacher Luisa Manighetti. At the age of 11, he debuted with the Colombian Symphony Orchestra and continued his training in the United States and Vienna, standing out with academic honors. Her career as a pianist led her to performances on prestigious international stages and to be a soloist with renowned orchestras.
From 1969 to 2005, she was a professor at Vassar College in New York, receiving the title "George Shermann Dickinson Chair." In addition, he taught at institutions such as the Eastman School in Rochester and New York University, extending his influence to universities and conservatories in various countries. Uribe obtained awards and recognition in classical music competitions, standing out in the Chopin Competition in Warsaw and in Rio de Janeiro.
During her time in Europe, she received the Elena Rombro-Stepanov Prize and the Gold Medal at the world competition in Geneva. His contribution as a jury member in prominent international competitions reflects his influence on the global music scene. Blanca Uribe is a distinguished pianist, educator and internationally recognized juror.
