Colombia, the International Piano Competition Blanca Uribe
The Conservatory of Tolima, College of Public Higher Education, will be for the year 2024 the Colombia International Piano Competition, Blanca Uribe from 12 to 26 October. The competition aims to promote the quality and excellence of the instrumental playing from the interchange with local performers, national and international, thus, achieve greater visibility, a solid positioning and prominent recognition in the global management from the process of internationalization.
At the specific level it seeks to enhance the career and legacy of Blanca Uribe, highlighting his legacy in the field of academic music international, make an international piano competition, which stand out for their quality and excellence within the international standards, to be a platform for the recognition and identification of talents pianísticos national and international, to position Colombia as a cultural destination primary for pianists and music lovers from all over the world, promoting cultural tourism, the dissemination of the artistic wealth of the country and the economic revitalization and, to create spaces for interaction with other agents of the musical training of international character that strengthen the educational process of the institution.
The Contest is part of the Concert Season, an Institutional space that is backed by the Support of the Movement, Symphony orchestra of the Ministry of Culture, which has been held since the year 2003 steadily until the present day. This space focuses on cultivating and promoting the musical expressions with regional, national and international, with the purpose of bringing “The music closer to the people”.
This competition seeks to attract young pianists from the age of the top category of the world scene to the Musical City of Colombia, offering them spaces, instruments of high quality, juries of renown, allowing the city to a position in the academic field of music, and adjacent to, the strengthening of sectors like hospitality, restaurants, cultural tourism, among others, and that this would allow the economic development of the city, in the same way, it is seen as a relation between the piano competitions international that is in the world.
